Dan just finished his third term serving in the House of Representatives, representing the 39th District. This district stretches from south of Skykomish in King County all the way the Canadian border. The cities in the district include Arlington, Granite Falls, Lake Stevens, Monroe, Sedro-Woolley and Marblemount.

The Snohomish native, a former local business manager and employer, will focus his efforts in the Legislature on the specific needs of Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom county families.

Dan is the House Republican Caucus Chair, and is on the on the Transportation Committee, Joint Legislative Audit Review Committee, Joint Agency Audit Review Committee, Capital Project Audit Review Board, as well as the Ecology & Parks Committee - giving him the perfect opportunity to work for the needs of farmers, employers and families in his district.

Dan’s large district has many priorities. In Snohomish County, for example, traffic safety is a top priority unlike any other county in the state. In Skagit and Whatcom counties, family farms have either completely stopped farming or can barely compete in the international marketplace. He is fighting to protect family farms being driven out of business by misguided state policies. Given the significant methamphetamine problem in his district, Dan is supporting legislation to impose stronger penalties for the meth manufacturing and put an end to this growing threat to our communities’ safety and the environment.

He is a Snohomish County native who has lived in the Snohomish area for over 20 years with his wife, Janis, and their three children. Dan attended Shorecrest High School and Shoreline Community College, becoming a successful small business manager and employer. He is active in his community and served on the business council of his church.
